Gap is a short film that brings Kuhn's own family into focus, following a significant moment: her uncle’s reunion with his father after nearly 25 years apart. The film opens in Germany, portraying the grandmother’s struggle with dementia, in which she no longer recognizes anyone in her family, including herself. It then transitions to the day of the long-awaited reunion. The grandfather, faced with the emotional weight of the moment, can only manage to show the family around, discussing the artworks he created, avoiding deeper emotional engagement. The film reflects on themes of lost time and the challenges of reconnecting after decades of separation.
