Neo Fountain is a guerrilla intervention Jessica Kuhn carried out at the ArtZuid public sculpture exhibition, which takes place every two years in Amsterdam. Secretly inserting her artwork into the curated display, she mimickes the aesthetic of the exhibition by placing a commercial ice cream cone on a fake concrete pedestal. She recreated the official signage, allowing it to blend in seamlessly with the other works. Viewers, unaware of the intervention, mistook the cone for a legitimate piece of art, challenging their expectations of what qualifies as art and what does not. Through this act, Neo Fountain questioned the role of context and presentation in shaping our understanding of art.
