Dancing lions II is a robotics choreography that simulates the movements of a mating lion's tale. On this hand, the work is a celebration of love. But this love is motorized and far removed from any organic spontaneity. And the lion's tale is coming from an industrially manufactured toy, resembling our artificial approach to nature. We prefer depicting dangerous animals as harmless by manufacturing them into adorable toys. Why?
